CNSC Annual Spring Dinner April 13.

The CNSC spring dinner will be April 13 at the Ramada Inn on North Triphammer Road—Ballroom DE. There will be meat and vegetarian entrees. Social time will begin at 6:00PM and dinner will follow at 6:30 PM. The cost of the dinner is $10 per CNSC member. Just bring your money to the dinner and Joan or I will make sure it gets into the treasury. Honestly, we will. Please let me know by April 5 if you are coming so we can get a head count. Tom Sebring is organizing a club trip to Gatineau Park just north of Ottawa on March 16-18, 2012. Ski by day and enjoy dinner and night life in Ottawa by night.

Worst winter in years

For most, a bad winter means lots of snow, but for the skiers this warm, snowless winter is the worst in years. The last two years, it was possible to ski all but a couple of weeks if you hit the higher elevations of Connecticut Hill, Hammond Hill, Yellow Barn. We were building up the base.I just updated the Tour list with all the cancellations. If we are lucky to get some Feb – March storms, we might try to reschedule some of the tours. Remember to use the list serv to get the most up-to-date information on tours and events.

17 attended club ski at Kennedy State Forest

Given the poor snow showing this season so far, 17 of us had a great ski at Kennedy State Forest. There was about 3 inches of fresh snow on a decent base. Check the tour schedule and be sure to join the email list to keep abreast of latest updates.

ANNUAL FALL DINNER MEETING

Friday, November 11th, 6PM, Ellis Hollow Community Center
As has long been the custom, theCayuga Nordic Ski Club will have a dish to pass dinner meeting to start the season and to plan for the club events during the coming winter. We plan to open the doors at 6:00 and to start eating as soon after 6:30 PM as possible. The business meeting will follow and will also be short.
The club will provide tea, coffee and some sort of juice, but nothing alcoholic (BYO). We will also bring roast chicken or turkey. Each member or family is asked to bring some sort of main dish, salad, dessert, or snack/dip. Please bring your own cutlery, cups, and plates.
Note the change of venue, which will allow us to indulge (responsibly) in licenced beverages. The Community Center is at 111 Genung Rd, just north of Ellis Hollow Rd, and is about 4 miles east of downtown Ithaca. Coming from town, out Ellis Hollow Rd, turn left on Genung Rd and the Center is on your right.
