Tour report: Virgil Mountain Jan 10th

Outing Report (10 Jan 2010):  Sundays outing on the DEC trails on the “backside” of Virgil Mountain was attended by 2 hardy skiers (Diane Kilts and Jack Vanderzee) and fearless leader.  Conditions were excellent on all trails with a wonderful track (approx 12 inch base) and a wind free winter wonderland of snow clinging to each branch and trunk of the the forest trees.   Could have stayed there all day, but hunger took control so after three hrs without a break of skiing ate a quick lunch in the car and went to The  Gatherings (formerly The Rafters) for a tasty Irish coffee and good cheer. — Greg Wooster
