General Information About Our Events
Cayuga Nordic Ski Club events are announced on our website, our Google Group Email List and on our Facebook page and/or Facebook group. Learn more about how to access our communication avenues here. Throughout the year, we offer events such as ski tours, ski clinics, hikes, club socials, club meetings and similar.
Participation
Guests are welcome to participate in our events. Repeat guests are encouraged to become members. Find out more about membership here. Unless it is specified in the event descriptions, participants do not need to notify the event leader of their intentions to participate.
Guidelines
Preparation - please read the ski tour/hike description carefully and make sure you are comfortable with the ski tour/hike length, difficulty, pace, weather, and terrain. Also make sure you have the appropriate clothing, equipment, water, and food. If you have any questions, contact the hike leader(s).
Trailhead/Meeting Place - we try to provide the best possible GPS/Google location to our trailhead/meeting place. Please contact the ski tour/hike leader ahead of time if you are unsure how to get there. The time announced at the meeting place is approximate, but the ski tour/hike will not depart before that time.
Dogs - Because of varying regulations on some of the public and private trails we visit and our hike/ski tour leader preferences, please check with the hike/ski tour leader in advance before bringing your dog to a club event. When permitted on club ski tours/hikes by the leader, dogs must be on a leash and controlled.
Last-minute changes - Please check this website and the Google Group Email List for any announcements the evening or early morning before the event for any last-minute changes in the trail conditions or description. In rare cases, it may be necessary to cancel or postpone an event.
All Skiers, Hikers and Volunteers Participate at Their Own Risk
Those persons participating in any and all Cayuga Nordic Ski Club (CNSC) events (hikes, ski tours, club meetings, club socials, etc) accept full personal responsibility for their own well being and for the well being of a minor when acting in the capacity of parent or guardian.
